LEBWINKS PRIVACY POLICY
This privacy policy details how awesome LebWinks is when collecting, using, or disclosing personal information. This includes the information that is being gathered right now while using the LebWinks website. For example, we may have just gathered information about how you are sitting at a computer reading this. Spooky isn’t it? The information also includes the information gathered by LebWinks software while browsing websites, looking at things online line, using the software, or surfing your private stash of porn. LebWinks doesn’t really want to collect that information. In case we do, this is the document that covers it. Let’s call all of these information gathering practices the “Services”. We could call the Services “Jason” or “Andrew” instead, but that gets too confusing.

Information Collection and Use
LebWinks does not collect personal information about website visitors except where such information is knowingly provided by you. By providing us information, users voluntarily consent to LebWinks storing and using this information. Providing us information will put the information on our servers to be used when providing Services.
If you join LebWinks and use the Services, certain information will have to be provided during the registration process. This information will be stored on LebWinks server and will be used to provide the Services to you and other users. LebWinks software is intended to share websites with other users. In order to provide this function, some information must be shared with others, including friend, username, rating, and URL information.
While using the Services, LebWinks will automatically transmit browsing and rating information to the LebWinks’ server. This information is stored under your user account and shared with your friends and your friends’ friends. We may even share this information with your friends’ friends’ friends. When we are feeling really crazy, we share this information with your friends’ friends’ friends’ friends. You can limit the sharing to just your friends at any time by selecting the appropriate option on the toolbar. At all times, information will only be shared to the extent necessary to provide the Services.
Some data gathered by LebWinks is generic non-personal information such as IP addresses, operating systems, browser software, and demographic or generic usage data. This data is viewed in the aggregate to help LebWinks improve its Services. In some cases, this data may be provided to third parties.
REMOVAL OF INFORMATION
At any time while using the Services, you can prevent LebWinks from sharing certain visited URLs or ratings with others. This can be activated through the LebWinks toolbar. In addition, you can block all URL gathering activity at any time using the applicable option on the toolbar. That is because our toolbar is awesome. All other toolbars are not so awesome. We think everyone wishes they were LebWinks, but we really didn’t do much research so we could be wrong.
You, and other users like you (and even a few users like us), have the option of removing their personal information completely from LebWinks if they no longer wish to receive the Services. To remove the information, you must un-register for LebWinks using the option in your account interface or by emailing Lebwinks at support@lebwinks.com. LebWinks will send a confirmation email containing a removal link to the email address listed in your account prior to removing the information. This link must be clicked in order to complete the removal process. The process really isn’t hard, but we didn’t want your friends removing your information for you. We should warn you that removing all of your information will render the Services inaccessible.
After receiving your confirmation to remove the information, LebWinks may retain and keep your information for up to thirty (30) days. We keep this information in order to ensure that you really meant to be removed. We are always sad when people leave us. We like you. Notwithstanding the foregoing, LebWinks is under no obligation to keep the information and may remove the information prior to the expiration of the thirty (30) day period.
EXCEPTIONS TO PRIVACY POLICY
The LebWinks’ privacy policy does not encompass any information that is inherent in the operation of the Internet. This information is beyond the control of LebWinks. This privacy policy will not apply in any manner that is contrary to applicable laws and governmental regulations. LebWinks may disclose your personally identifiable information if required to do so by law or in the good-faith belief that such action is necessary to (1) conform to the requirements of the law or comply with governmental orders, court orders, or legal process served on LebWinks; or (2) protect and defend the property or rights of LebWinks, or the users of LebWink’s products and services. We’re too small of an operation to fight the “man”. Sorry.
When you invite one of your awesome friends to join LebWinks or when you add an existing awesome user as a friend, your name and email address will be sent to the friend for confirmation. Once confirmed, you will be listed as a friend and your information will available for review of your friends. We aren’t responsible if your friends laugh at how lame you are for visitng that one site. You know which one. Recommended websites will be sent to friends without notice to you.
If LebWinks or its assets are acquired by another company, that company will posses the information collected by us and will assume the rights and obligations with respect to the use and collection of information as set forth herein. They might change the privacy policy. I’m sure they’ll let you know.
One last exception is where you give us permission to share the information with others. If you give us permission then we will use it to the extent permission is given.
External Links
You probably already realized this, but LebWinks may contain links to external websites. This is the whole point of the Services. LebWinks is not responsible for the privacy practices of such other sites. We don’t even know who those other websites are. Blame your friends. They recommended them to us. This privacy statement applies solely to information collected by this website. LebWinks has no control over the accuracy of information displayed, the content, or the use of data by such websites.
ADVERTISING AND SPAM
The Services may contain advertising information and links. LebWinks may send users announcements or promotional activities to the email address associated with a LebWinks’ account. However, LebWinks is against unsolicited spam and does not promote its Services in this manner. We don’t sell herbal supplements and you can only have your “unit” enlarged so many times. LebWinks does send out promotional emails and important products announcements to its subscribers who have opted in to receive this information. Users no longer desiring this important information can opt out of receiving this information by sending an email to unsubscribe@lebwinks.com. People opting out of our emails make us sad. We will miss them. If you want to talk about your fear of email, you can always email us at info@lebwinks.com.
Even when users opt out, they may receive service announcements or emergency updates. The only way to stop receiving emergency or announcement emails is to remove the Services completely.
COOKIES
LebWinks likes cookies. They are tasty. Also, we use cookies – small files containing strings of characters – to uniquely identify you and your web browser. These cookies are used to improve our Services by storing preference information and to track trends. Cookies are also used in our advertising services. If cookies are disabled on your computer, the Services may not function properly.
CHILDREN
LebWinks does not intentionally gather any information about visitors or users who are under the age of 13. All members represent and warrant that they are over the age of 13. This is definitely not a site or Service for children. Then again, it really depends on who your friends are.
SECURITY
LebWinks uses reasonable measures in maintain the security of the information it collects. However, no company can fully eliminate security risks and you acknowledge that LebWinks shall not be responsible for the malicious acts of third parties.

Please check this page periodically for changes to the privacy policy as it may be changed at any time without notice to you. Changes will be posted on the privacy page so that you will always know how we collect and use information. This privacy policy was last update on December 31, 2008. Happy new years!
